In the spirit of International Women’s Day, we were pleased to host a timely and thought-provoking webinar exploring a critical question for today’s workforce: will artificial intelligence help propel women forward—or risk setting them back?

Titled “The New Gender Divide: How AI Could Propel Women Forward – or Set Them Back,” the session brought together insightful perspectives from across APAC Advisors, featuring Senior Advisor for Responsible Investment Megan Willis, alongside CEO Steven Okun and Associate Noemie Viterale.

As AI continues to reshape the global economy, the discussion focused on how its benefits may not be evenly distributed. A key theme that emerged was the risk that AI could disproportionately advantage those already in positions to leverage it—potentially widening existing gender gaps in the workforce.

At the same time, the conversation highlighted a clear opportunity: with the right strategies, AI could serve as a powerful tool to accelerate women’s participation, leadership, and economic empowerment. This will require businesses and governments alike to take a more intentional approach—ensuring that gender considerations are embedded into talent development, workforce planning, and policy frameworks for the AI age.

The session underscored that the future of work is not just about technology, but about inclusion. As we navigate this transformation, the choices made today will determine whether AI becomes a force for equality—or further division.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for this important conversation, and to our speakers for their valuable insights.
