The Global Private Capital Association: Women as the Opportunity: Building Stronger Funds in Southeast Asia

APAC Advisors is proud to have supported the third annual "Women as the Opportunity" training, delivered by the Global Private Capital Association (GPCA) in partnership with Investing in Women and FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank.

Steven Okun, Senior Advisor to GPCA, and Noemie Viterale, Program Manager for GPCA's partnership with Investing in Women, helped lead the day's programming for more than 50 investors and fund managers from across Southeast Asia.

The training built on the GPCA–IW Working Group, launched earlier this year to sustain peer-to-peer exchange between annual sessions. The day started with discussion on real portfolio case studies, followed by a session on where women drop off across the fund and portfolio-company talent pipeline, and a panel on how investors can realistically influence outcomes at the portfolio-company level.

The core message of the day: gender-informed decision-making is a value-creation strategy, not a niche investment thesis. It shapes recruitment, governance, and leadership pipelines, and plays out differently across LPs, GPs, and asset classes - which is why sustained, practical exchange among investors matters more than any single training.

APAC Advisors congratulates the working group members, and the GPCA, Investing in Women, and FMO teams, for another year of practical, peer-led progress on this agenda!
